History Now

MY ROLE
Experience Developer

I collaborated with curators, designers, preparators and community members whose stories were being told.

  • I LED THE INTERPRETIVE PLANNING process through Concept, Design Development, and Implementation phases.

  • I OUTLINED THE LABEL HIERARCHY, DRAFTED, REVISED, AND EDITED ALL EXHIBITION TEXT to visitor-friendly standards.

  • I PROTOTYPED AND DEVELOPED INTERACTIVE EXPERIENCES in collaboration with designer and curator.

  • I FACILITATED CONVERSATIONS to inform storytelling about problematic aspects of California history in collaboration with OMCA’s Native Advisory Council and other community members.

  • I LED COMMUNITY COLLABORATIVE PROCESSES during Concept and Design Development phases.

History Now, Oakland Museum of California

An experimental space located in the Gallery of California History that features timely, rotating installations that emphasize current events in an interactive space. The experience invites visitor into dialogue through thought-provoking prompts and powerful historical objects from OMCA’s collection. I developed experiences focused on four contemporary topics: Fake News, Free Speech/Hate Speech, Taking Native Lands, and Immigration.
