Christine Lashaw

I am a lead content and experience developer with 23+ years of experience working at the intersection of exhibition development, community engagement, and audience advocacy in the San Francisco Bay Area.

I facilitate opportunities for people who typically don’t have power to directly advocate for themselves and tell their own stories. This results in projects produced in collaboration with many unique, talented people, with different perspectives and expertises, who come together to generate new approaches, understandings, dynamic practices, and creative solutions.

I lead by radically listening and continuously learning with humility, sincerity, honesty, and integrity. Ultimately, I deliver content and experiences for a broad range of audiences to make meaning, bridge differences, and bond with each other.

WHAT I DO

I TRANSLATE CONTENT into clear terms for the audience and scaffold learning for the user.

I ADVOCATE FOR AUDIENCES by checking assumptions, and staying aligned with project goals and visitor outcomes.

I PRODUCE DIGITAL MEDIA AND ANALOG INTERACTIVE EXPERIENCES informed by prototypes and evaluations with users.

I BUILD AND LEAD TEAMS in a way that fosters autonomy and supports growth.

I MANAGE COMPLEX PROJECTS with multiple stakeholders and moving parts.

I FOCUS ON COMMUNITY-CENTERED PRACTICES by designing and leading co-creative methods that feed the interpretive planning process and bring collections to life.

I CONDUCT RESEARCH to inform content development, and innovative approaches to the user experience.

I SHAPE MORE INCLUSIVE NARRATIVES about our collective histories through a multidisciplinary approach.

I DELIVER SOCIAL AND RACIAL JUSTICE CONTENT in collaboration with the communities whose stories are being told.

I TAP MY OWN DESIGN BACKGROUND to bridge conversations between designers and content experts.
